Baby Names

Picking a baby name is really hard.  Phil and I have some girl names we really like, but we can't narrow it down.  Please vote on the sidebar for your favorite.  As far as boy's names go, we're really undecided.  We would love it if you would leave us a suggestion in the comment area.  Thanks for your help!

Christmas Stuff

I have been loving working part time during the holidays because I've actually had time to decorate the house this year.  Last year, we had a tree, and nothing else because I didn't have time.  This year, I put out nativities, stockings, and the Christmas village.  Phil even put Christmas lights on Ryan's bed.  Yesterday, I baked sugar cookies.  I'm even almost done Christmas shopping.  There have been many years where I've hardly started at this point, so I'm really proud of my accomplishments.  The one thing that has seemingly gone by the wayside is our family Christmas card.  Because this has been an oversight on my part, I've decided to include our card on our blog.  So Merry Christmas from all of us!

Baby News

I went to my 12 week check up today and got to hear the baby's heartbeat. I'm so happy! I was a little worried at first because it took the doctor a long time to find it, but then, there it was ... and then it moved away. Luckily, she found it again. She said she hoped the baby would be a little more cooperative at the next appointment, but I was thinking, if this one is at all like Ryan, it won't stay still for long.

Inspiration

This weekend we went to Cayucos with Phil's family for Thanksgiving and had a great time. While we were in the area, I had to stop by Cotton Ball and look at all their gorgeous fabric. I of course found some fabrics that I adore and have been inspired... to have a girl so I can decorate a girl's bedroom. I feel guilty in case I am not having a girl, but I must share my inspiration because it is so darn cute!

This is my first inspiration piece. It is called "Starling" by Alexander Henry. I love it beyond words. I think there are so many cute things I could do with this fabric.

This second inspiration came to me in today's new Anthropolgie catalog. I saw the painted walls titled, "Drawn Home," and knew this is what the walls should look like to accompany this gorgeous fabric. I could duplicate the black and white drawing on the fabric and paint it on the walls. Then using felt, I could make large versions of the birds and hang them up in the room. The crib and the dresser would need to be painted black to make the room perfect. And I was planning an easy transformation of linens if I had a girl.... Phil will kill me.
